Välkommen till workshop med Lee Brummer!

In this session we will warm up with a gaga/dancers class led by Lee Brummer. Following this we will learn a section from Brummer’s work “Something to do, Someone to love, Something to look forward to” which was created in residency in Östersund and performs at Estrad Norr this April. The material is Brummer’s unique movement carefully crafted to tell a story, in both clear and abstract forms and is set to the musicality of the live spoken text which colours and is present through the entire piece.

Deltagare på workshopen får möjlighet att se föreställningen ”Back to Back” till rabatterat pris. Kontakta anna.m.eriksson@regionjh.se för mer info. https://estradnorr.se/estrad-norr/pa-scen/publika-evenemang/back-to-back-.html?

BIO

Gaga is the movement language developed by Ohad Naharin throughout many years, parallel to his work as a choreographer and artistic director (1990-2018) of Batsheva Dance Company.

Gaga classes are predicated on a deep listening to the body and to physical sensations. The instructions are deployed to increase awareness of and further amplify sensation, information is layered, building into a multisensory, physically challenging experience. While many instructions are imbued with rich imagery, the research of Gaga is fundamentally physical, insisting on a specific process of embodiment. Gaga provides a framework for discovering and strengthening the body and adding flexibility, stamina, agility, and skills including coordination and efficiency while stimulating the senses and imagination.

Lee Brummer is an independent choreographer, international guest teacher and educator based in Sweden who frequently works both across Sweden and internationally. Lee is the Associate Director and co-founder of ilDance, an independent and international contemporary dance company and organisation based in Gothenburg, Sweden.
